“Dancing brings an endlessness in which nothing matters
but to go on dancing…”
_Dorothy Richardson
"Dancing across thresholds" can refer to several things, including a physical or metaphorical journey into new experiences, often involving a sense of change or transformation. It’s when we find ourselves standing on the edge of the known – a gentle movement away from something deeper and more alive. These are the moments when the music inspires and the body begins to move from instinct rather than intention.
Crossing this invisible line often feels like we are no longer dancing – the dance emerges from within and moves urgently through us as a rush of life. Thresholds are not always dramatic, sometimes they are gentle. Through the subtle shift of breath, a softening of resistance we awaken a flicker of connection. Whether quiet or intense, these moments invite us to surrender – to let go and trust the unfolding.
In the dance we find ourselves in the spaces between movements when in a nanosecond we enter the dance with mystery. Where I came from is not where I am – the dance transforms, sculpts, and creates new spaces. When I dance across this threshold, I dance into the unknown. However, these are the magical spaces of new adventures that deepen our connections to life.
